What are lender codes and what is their purpose?

Modified on Tue, May 7 at 10:51 AM

Each tax office has the choice to use a lender code or not. Lender codes are unique numbers used to code payers with their unique ID. A tax office can assign a lender code to each of their payers and this code will be visible on their pre-commitment/payment files.

To do so, navigate to your EscrowCloud account and click on the Payers tab. Find the Payer(s) you want to assign lender codes to either by scrolling to the Payer or using the Filter Results on the left hand side of your screen. Enter your assigned lender code in the field provided and click "Save".

To ensure you have no missing codes, use the Filter Results on the left hand side of your screen. Choose "Missing Customer Codes" from the dropdown menu under "Filter by Customer Code". All payers with missing codes will populate on the screen.
